Vanax complete changeover for coffee machine service company

On the eve of their tenth anniversary, Vanax Ltd has completed the successful changeover of racking systems for thirty mobile service vans on behalf of a leading independent coffee machine service company. The original VW Transporter T28 SWB vans were converted at Vanax’s Glasgow install centre in 2008 where Sortimo Globelyst crash tested racking systems, additional lighting and interior lining kits were installed. The completed vans were delivered to the company’s mobile service engineers throughout the UK and EIRE who service coffee machines for espresso bars, top hotels and restaurants. When these vans came to the end of their contracted lease period it was requested that changeovers were completed using conversion centres more local to the engineers.

Vanax was tasked with organising the removal and refit of all accessories through Sortimo’s install partner network. Each location was chosen to minimise the travel time for Matthew Algie’s service engineers. Utilising six strategically positioned locations in Scotland, North West and North East od England, the Midlands, South East and the Republic of Ireland, all vans were completed over a staggered delivery schedule of three months with average travel times to the install centres kept below one hour per engineer.

The reliability of Sortimo’s racking systems became apparent when changeovers took place. Managing Director, Johnny Dunne said, “Normally when a customer renews their van fleet, they also renew the plywood shelving which can be upgraded to a high quality commercial shelving solution. This means on a renewal cycle of three news vans over nine years, they will spend in the region of £2,000 on plywood shelving. With Sortimo, the initial investment meant the racking could be easily switched into the new van more quickly and efficiently than the plywood equivalent. For the same cost as renewing the plywood racking every time a new van was purchased they were able to switch the Sortimo racking with the added benefit of crash tested status and a far more professional looking racking system. Of the thirty van racking systems, not one drawer, shelf or storage box needed to be replaced. The initial investment in Sortimo by the customer has ensured a cost efficient solution will be achieved over the 8-10 year life expectancy of the racking systems. The ability to stock a high proportion of spare parts neatly and efficiently within each van has helped the national team of service engineers achieve a 97% first time fix rate for their customer base.
